Janet E. Perez, DNP, APRN, AGNP-C, is a board-certified Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner, U.S. Army Veteran, and founder of Drip & Sip, LLC, in Augusta, Georgia. With more than 20 years of nursing experience spanning direct clinical care, care coordination, infusion services, utilization review, and healthcare informatics, Dr. Perez brings a distinctive perspective to primary care and wellness—one shaped by seeing healthcare from many sides.
Her nursing journey began at the Department of Veterans Affairs, where she served as a registered nurse in medical-surgical nursing and Blind Rehabilitation. She later expanded her experience through case management and utilization review roles with AU Health and Wellstar, helping patients navigate complex healthcare needs and systems.
Dr. Perez also served as an infusion liaison with Coram Infusion, supporting patients and healthcare teams throughout the Central Savannah River Area. She later returned to Wellstar as an Informatics RN, connecting clinical practice, technology, workflow, and the systems that influence how care is delivered.
After years of working throughout the healthcare system, Dr. Perez recognized an opportunity to approach care differently. Too often, patients encounter healthcare only after they are already sick, overwhelmed, or unsure of what their health information means. She envisioned a practice where prevention, education, early intervention, and meaningful patient-provider relationships could play a larger role.
That conviction led her back to school to become an Adult-Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner and ultimately inspired the vision behind Drip & Sip.
Today, Dr. Perez provides Medicare primary and preventive care for adults age 65 and older, with an emphasis on healthier aging, prevention, chronic condition management, and helping patients remain active participants in their healthcare. Services include Medicare preventive and Annual Wellness Visits, primary and problem-focused care, sick and acute visits, chronic condition management, Chronic Care Management, and care coordination.
Drip & Sip also provides personalized wellness services for individuals interested in taking a more proactive approach to their health. Through wellness consultations, assessments, education, and select wellness therapies, Dr. Perez continues to bring together clinical knowledge and individualized support while maintaining a clear distinction between medical care and optional wellness services.
As a U.S. Army Veteran, Dr. Perez remains deeply connected to the veteran community. She continues to support Veterans through Veteran Independent Medical Evaluation Services, providing thoughtful and objective review of medical histories, documentation, and health concerns.
Dr. Perez believes healthcare should not begin only when something goes wrong. Prevention, education, thoughtful management of chronic conditions, and understanding one’s own health can all play an important role in maintaining independence and quality of life as we age.
Her approach combines evidence-based primary care, patient education, preventive health, care coordination, and a whole-person perspective—helping patients better understand where they are today while making informed decisions about where they want their health to go.
Clinical services at Drip & Sip are provided under the supervision of Nauman Rashid, MD, who serves as Dr. Perez’s supervising physician. This collaborative clinical relationship supports the practice’s commitment to safe, thoughtful, and professionally guided care.
For Dr. Perez, Drip & Sip is more than a medical or wellness practice. It is an opportunity to create a different kind of healthcare experience—one where patients feel heard, informed, supported, and empowered to take a more intentional role in their health.
Proactive care. Personalized wellness. Healthier aging.
